چکیده
KASCADE-Grande is a multi detector setup for the investigation of extensive air showers in the 10 − 10 eV energy range. With the Grande array it is possible to reconstruct the shower core position, the arrival direction and the total number of charged particles in the shower. The Grande array measures in coincidence with the original KASCADE muon array consisting of 622 m shielded scintillators. The data of the combined measurements are used to extract information from the muonic and eletromagnetic parts of the shower independently. In this paper, the muon density in a ring from 380 to 400 m distance from the shower axis is studied and compared to predictions of hadronic interaction models. We report first results of these muon measurements at KASCADE-Grande which indicates the primary composition evolution.

30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE Direct Measurements, Acceleration and Propagation of Cosmic Rays
This paper summarizes highlights of the OG1 session of the 30th International Cosmic Ray Conference, held in Merida (Yucatan, Mexico). The subsessions (OG1.1, OG1.2, OG1.3, OG1.4 and OG1.5) summarized here were mainly devoted to direct measurements, acceleration and propagation of cosmic rays.
متن کامل30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE The end of the Galactic spectrum
We use a diffusion galactic model to analyze the end of the Galactic cosmic ray spectrum and its mixing with the extragalactic cosmic ray flux. We analyze the transition between Galactic and extragalactic components using two different extragalactic models. We compare the sum of the diffusive galactic spectrum and extragalactic spectrum with the available experimental data.

The effects of thunderstorms on the electromagnetic and muon components of the cosmic ray secondary flux were studied during severe storms obtained in 2004, analyzing the variations of the counting rates shown in the upper and lower scintillators of the muon telescope installed in Mexico City and considering the data of storms report for the international airport of Mexico City.
متن کامل30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE Search for Intermediate-Scale Anisotropy by the HiRes Experiment
The HiRes collaboration has searched for intermediate-scale anisotropy of ultrahigh energy cosmic rays in two ways: first a search for variation with declination of the flux of cosmic rays, and second in their arrival directions. The data of the HiRes-II detector was used in the search.
متن کامل30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE HiRes Limits on the Tau Neutrino Flux at the Highest Energies
Data from the High Resolution Fly’s Eye detector that measures cosmic rays with the fluorescence technique is used to set limits on the flux of tau neutrinos in the energy range from 10 to 10 eV. This energy range is particularly interesting as we expect a guaranteed flux of cosmogenic neutrinos from the GZK mechanism.
متن کامل30TH INTERNATIONAL COSMIC RAY CONFERENCE Air fluorescence yield dependence on atmospheric parameters
The fluorescence detection of ultra high energy cosmic rays requires a detailed knowledge of the fluorescence light emission from nitrogen molecules over a wide range of atmospheric parameters, corresponding to altitudes typical of the cosmic ray shower development in the atmosphere. We have made a precise measurement of the fluorescence light spectrum excited by MeV electrons in air. The relat...
